Spanish LOTE (613) Sample Lesson Plan

Are you nervous about having to write a lesson plan for the LOTE Spanish?
Keep in mind that you write the lesson plan in English.

If you want a sample lesson that would score a 6, I have one available for purchase.  Until June 9, you may buy it for only $2.99.

Email me at courtneyschonefeld@hotmail.com to order a sample LOTE Spanish lesson plan.

I took the LOTE in 2012 and scored 6 out of 6 on my lesson plan.  I feel confident that this lesson plan would also score a 6.

Spanish LOTE (613) Study Material for Instruction and Assessment on Sale for $2.99 (Limited Time)

I am selling a study guide for the instruction and assessment portion of the LOTE!  Until June 9, 2014, you can purchase it for only $2.99.

Email me at courtneyschonefeld@hotmail.com to order one.  I will email you an invoice and once you pay via Paypal, I will email you the ebook in a PDF format.

Even if you are fluent in Spanish, you can struggle with the LOTE!  Over 34% is on instruction and assessment (pedagogy).  I have been working with people that take TExES exams for over 5 years, and I have seen native speakers fail the LOTE because they did not prepare for the first 3 competencies on instruction and assessment.  This study guide gives you the information and resources you need to prepare for the first 3 competencies of the exam.

Email me today to order a copy of this study guide.  You may also schedule a tutoring session by emailing me at courtneyschonefeld@hotmail.com

LOTE Passing Rate

Did you know that in 2012 the passing rate for the LOTE Spanish was 46.3%?  You can view the pass rates by going to this SBEC link and clicking on "Initial Pass Rates- Statewide."

I know that sounds scary!  I'm letting you know so you will prepare accordingly.

I recommend you buy a good study guide, put a lot of effort into studying, and if you need help, schedule a tutoring session.  I do not know of a good study guide for the LOTE, but I recommend the Barron's AP Spanish guide.  However, it will not help you for the pedagogy section, so carefully review the ETS preparation manual for that portion and do additional research on those competencies.

You can email me at courtneyschonefeld@hotmail.com to set up a tutoring appointment.  I passed the LOTE a few years ago with a score of 281(240 is passing, and 300 is perfect), and I can give you tips and strategies to help you maximize your chances of passing.

Teaching Jobs and Testing

You probably already know that you have to pass your TExES exam to be eligible for teaching jobs in Texas.

This is the prime hiring season for teaching jobs, and it will continue through August.

Email me today at courtneyschonefeld@hotmail.com to schedule a tutoring session to help you pass your content exam.

Some TExES exams have a failure rate that is over 40%!  Invest in an hour of tutoring to help you maximize your chances of passing.  I have passed 11 TExES exams and one ExCET exam- all on the first try.  It's my goal to help you pass your test and become a certified teacher in Texas!

Taking the BTLPT or LOTE Spanish Test?

If you're preparing for the LOTE or BTLPT Spanish, I recommend you go over the ETS preparation manual and supplemental guide:

http://cms.texes-ets.org/texes/prepmaterials/texes-preparation-manuals/
http://cms.texes-ets.org/texes/prepmaterials/supplemental-guides/

These documents will go over the basic information you need to know for the test, but will not include all the information you need.

Since I have not yet found a study guide I would recommend for the LOTE or BTLPT Spanish exams, I recommend you buy an AP Spanish guide, such as this one:

http://www.amazon.com/Barrons-Spanish-MP3-8th-Edition/dp/1438073917/ref=sr_1_fkmr3_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1400634891&sr=8-1-fkmr3&keywords=barrons+ap+spanish+guide

If you would like to schedule a tutoring session with me, please email me at courtneyschonefeld@hotmail.com    I passed the LOTE Spanish a couple of years ago with a score of 281.  The minimum passing score is 240, and a perfect score is 300.
